Parish Finance Committee

The Parish Finance Committee is one that is required by Cannon Law in the Catholic Church. The Hamilton Diocese and the Code of Canon Law clarifies that the role of the Finance Committee is to support the parish priest in the management and administration of the “goods” of the parish. A well-formed Parish Finance Committee is a key element for promoting the financial health of a parish, assuring accountability and assisting the pastor with his temporal responsibilities. Committee members are appointed by the parish priest, and meet roughly about twice a year to discuss parish goals, repairs, and any financial needs of the parish.
